Links provides Noodle users with an easy-access, convenient weblink manager. Define and rate useful webpages that can be accessed by any Noodle user!

Adding a Link

Add a link to the Links list by clicking the 'Add New Link' button at the top of the window. Enter the Title that will be displayed in the Links display and the URL (Web Address).

There is also a checkbox at the bottom of the window marked 'Open in new browser window'. If left as the default option of checked, the selected link will appear in a new browser window. If the link is to be displayed in the original browser window, uncheck this box.

Click 'Add New Link' to store the link.

Link Ratings

The Link Rating feature allows Noodle users to inform other users as to the usefulness or quality of a website included in the Links.

To give a Link/s a rating select it by checking the checkbox adjacent to it's title/s. Select 'Ratings' to show the current ratings for all selected links.

Click the 'Thumbs-Up' icon () to give a positive rating.
Click the 'Thumbs-Down' icon () to give a link a negative rating.
The user may also click the crossed out thumb icon () to remove a rating.

Each user may give a link a rating only once. If a user wishes to change their opinion, they must first remove their original rating.

Link Information

Extra Information can also be assigned to a link, including comments from users and Tags. Click the [More] link to display the Tag icon to add a tag and also the 'Add Comment' link to open up the Intra Editor to add a comment:

Click the [Less] link to collapse the information section.

Other Functions

As with other Applications, Links has some basic functions to allow for easier reusability and migration. From the main Links view the user may delete entries or cut and paste weblinks between other user's Links. Simply select the entry or entries that to be moved or deleted by checking the checkbox adjacent to it and using the buttons located above the list of links.

Access Rights Explanations

Below is an explanation of how Access Rights affect what the User is able to do:
  • Read - Read Access allows the User to see the selection of Links available and select a Link from the list to view. Read Access also allows the User to view Tags associated to Links.
  • Post - Post allows the User to view the list of Links, select a Link to view, view any tags associated with a Link, create a Link and add and delete a comment about a Link.
  • Modify - Modify Access grants the User all the rights associated with Post, as well as the ability to assign Tags to Links.
  • Admin - Admin Access allows the User to access the Administration section to the particular instance of the Links module.
  • Route - Routing is not applicable for the Links application.
