Noodle's Instant Messenger gives Users the capability
to send instant messages to each other from the Noodle interface.
This functionality is very useful when:
Sending and Receiving Messages
Lets start this page with what everyone wants, to communicate
instantly! Not only is this functionality invaluable when dealing
with time-critical initiatives, it also gives organizations the
chance to allow employees to network and socialize with each other,
crucial for maintaining relationships. To open the Instant Messenger
interface, click on the 'Messages' link underneath
the 'My Profile' link in the navigation:

When selected, this link will display the Messenger interface
in the lower-right corner of Noodle:

This is the interface that is used for sending and receiving
messages in Noodle. The first thing that we are going to need
when sending a message, is a recipient. Choose a user by clicking
on their image above the message history window then type a message
in the text box. Click 'Send' when complete to
show this message - replies will also be shown in the same window:

When a User received a message they will be notified in 2 different
ways - A number next to the Instant Messenger link shows how many
new messages a user has. When a new message is received, the screen
will flash. An audio notification is also available and can be
toggled from the interface. See Toggle Sound.
Searching for a User
Noodle can also help you search for an Instant Message recipient
easily from the Instant Messenger interface. At the top of the
Instant Messenger interface is a small text box. This acts as
a filter that allows Users to be located by simply typing in a
few letters from their username, first name or last name. To specify
that a Username is being searched, place parentheses - (
) - around the search. This will limit the search to
usernames only.
Clear Messages from the Messenger Window
Once a conversation has finished, you can clear the current messages
out of the window. Use the 'Clear' icon, next
to the Close icon at the top-right of the Messenger interface,
as shown:

Toggle Sound
Noodle has an audio alert that can be played to inform a user
that they have a new Instant Message. To toggle this sound alert
on/off, use the 'speaker' icon at the top-right of the window,
next to the 'Clear' button:
