IntraNet Features
IntraNet V6 fully utilizes modern web technologies to provide purposeful and intuitive functionality to it's users. From a flexible and fully customizable search to a What's New summary - IntraNet V6 is revolutionizing collaboration software one cool feature at a time!

Below is a list of the other IntraNet features and their uses.

Search Bar

The Search Bar gives IntraNet users the power to quickly and conveniently locate IntraNet content. Use the links above the search bar to specify which area of IntraNet is to be searched, enter the text in the textbox and click 'Search'

In the following example, the user has decided to search for Files, using the search text 'IntraNet':



IntraNet will now present the user a list of all matches based on the search criteria given:



The user may now click one of the links shown to be taken to the information page for that file. Any results that are contained in a folder will direct a user to the information page - others such as emails and forum posts, the user will be taken directly to them.


Advanced Search

Advanced Search is a superb feature that allows a user to search for phrases or multiple words within documents. To perform an Advanced Search, simply click the 'Advanced' link to the right of the main Search bar.
The user will now be directed to a form that will allow them to specify detailed search parameters in order to accurately and quickly content within IntraNet.

The Advanced Search allows users to define specific parameters to locate IntraNet content more effectively than using a regular search. IntraNet's running with MSSQL or Oracle will also be able to utilize Full-Text searching.

Advanced Search options are as follows:

Find words containing the items:

This is where the user should enter the text to be used for the search. Underneath this textbox are 2 or 3 radio buttons depending on the database system being used for IntraNet. The And and Or options allow the user to specify whether they would like IntraNet to search for items which names contain either ALL words in the search text, or a portion.

MSSQL and Oracle users will also have the option of Full Text Searching. This allows the user to search for text within a document.

Find Items in:

This allows the user to specify applications and/or pages that IntraNet will search.

Find items last modified by:

This allows the user to limit search results to items that have been modified by a certain user.

Find items created in:

This option allows the user to limit the search results to items that have been modified in the previous 7 days or 1, 2, or 4 months.

Find items in this type of application

This allows the user to limit the search results to items that exist only in a certain application type.

Find items with File Format:

This allows the user to limit search results to items with a specific file type.


What's New Summary

The What's New feature allows users to view items that have been recently added to IntraNet. Simply click the 'What's New' button at the top-right of the IntraNet interface.



Users may choose to specify applications in their own What's New Summary. Click on the My Settings link within the user page and then the What's New Summary tab. The following settings can be altered:

Display New Items of the following applications:

When this radio button is selected, What's New entries will only consist of items in certain applications that are specified by the user. Choose applications to be included using the listbox and the Add New and Removebuttons below.

Display New Items of All Applications I have access to.

With this radio button selected, each application to which the user has at least Read access rights will be included in the What's New Summary.

In the example below, the user has chosen to show entries in all applications from the last 24 hours.




Other Links

IntraNet also has 2 customizable links that allow Administrators to provide easy access to IntraNet-related, company-specific actions.

Feedback

This link can be found in the top-right corner of the IntraNet interface and is a link to send an email to provide feedback regarding the IntraNet. This email address can be specified by Administrators in System Settings -> General Settings, in the Feedback Link textbox.

Help

As with the Feedback link, this allows Administrators to provide a link to company-specific IntraNet help. This URL can be specified by Administrators in System Settings -> General Settings, in the URL for Help Button textbox.
