Blog allows Noodle users to post personal thoughts
and logs and also for other Noodle users to leave comments.
Creating an Entry in a Blog
Once a Blog application has been created (created the same as
all other applications), the user can begin adding Entries. To
add an Entry, the user can click on the 'Add Entry'
button to bring up the chosen text editor with which they can
create an Entry. Depending on the editor being used to create
the blog, there are 2 fields that need to be filled in order to
create a blog entry - a title and the body of the entry. Once
the title and body have been defined, the entry can then be saved.
Blog entries will be displayed with a picture of the author, a
link to that user's profile as well as the date and time when
the entry was created.
Blogs are ordered from newest to oldest - the newest blog entry
will always be at the top of the Blog main page. Currently there
is no limit to the number of entries that can be posted on a single
Blog.
Viewing and Adding Comments
Once a blog has been created, other Noodle users can leave comments
for other users relating to the blog entry. In order to view comments
made about a blog, click on the 'Comments' link
located underneath the blog text on the main Blog page. The number
immediately before 'Comments' signifies the number
of comments that have been posted about that particular entry.
To add a comment to a blog entry, simply enter the comment into
the text box provided and click the 'Add Comment'
button located underneath. Comments are shown in order they were
posted, therefore the topmost comments will be the oldest leading
down to the newest.
Other Functions
Uses with sufficient privileges may delete and edit entries.
Noodle administrators and the author of the blog are able to delete
and edit Blog entries.
Editing an Entry
To edit a blog, simply click on the 'Edit Entry'
link, located underneath the blog text in both the main page and
the comment view page. This will then bring up the chosen editor
along with the entry details. When editing is complete, click
on the 'Save' option to store the new blog information.
Deleting an Entry
To delete a blog, click on on the 'Delete Entry'
link, located underneath the blog text in both the main page and
the comment view page. Confirmation will be requested from the
user before continuing. If confirmation is received, the entry
will be removed and the user returned to the main Blog page.
