This section contains information for Noodle Administrators,
such as User Management, Content Management, Access Rights, Noodle
configuration and more. The top-half of the menu relates to the
Administration area of an application, accessible using the [Administration]
link next to it's title.
The links below will redirect to separate pages with specific information on each feature:
Access Rights
Access Rights allow Noodle administrators to control who has
permission to view and alter content. This is a powerful tool
that will allow information to be accessed only by those with
sufficient privileges.
Begin my selecting the area on which access rights are to be
altered and select 'Administration', shown in
red to the right of the title. Access Rights is the first tab
shown and will be selected by default.
A list of all users and groups who have rights to this page or
application will now be displayed.
Access Right Definitions
Access Rights are defined as follows:
Read: Allows the user to view content only.
Post: Allows the user to add to a section, for
example, uploading a file.
Modify: Allows the user to modify content already
on Noodle.
Admin: Allows the user administrative rights
for that section.
Route: Allows a user to route objects to and
from a folder.
Assigning User Rights
This is the simplest method of restricting or allowing a user
to view or alter Noodle content. To grant a user privileges to
an Application or Page, do the following:
1. Click on the 'Assign User Rights' button,
located underneath the title. A new window should appear which
contains a list of Noodle users:

2. Select the users to be assigned privileges to by ensuring
the check-box adjacent to their name is checked.
3. Decide the level of access to be allowed for the chosen user/s
by selecting 'Allow' or 'Deny'
in the list of permissions.
3. Select 'Save' to confirm any changes.
If rights are to be altered for a user who has already had privileges
assigned to them you may do so by doing the following:

2. Using the radio buttons on the left side of the new window,
choose the desired level of access, as shown below:

3. Select 'Save' to confirm any changes.
Assigning Group Rights
Groups are an excellent way to separate Users in such a way that
allows Noodle administrators to assign rights and permissions
quickly and effectively.
Create Groups that reflect company structure and assign rights
and permissions to each group as befits the level of access desired
for those users.
To assign group rights select the 'Assign Group Rights'
at the top-left of the administration page. Choosing a Group and
their level of access is done the same way as assigning User rights.
Properties
Page Properties allow users to alter the name and change the icon
of a Folder or Application. Users may also choose how a Page is
viewed within it's Properties.
To access Properties, first select the desired Page or Application
and select the 'Properties' tab, located at the
top-right of the page. Properties is the central tab located underneath
the title.

Name:'. Enter the new name for the section.

Settings
Folders and Applications have a Settings area that allows the
user to customize content and layout.
Customizing Pages
Please check our section on Pages full detailed instructions
on all Page administration features, including Portlet layouts.
Customizing Folders
Noodle allows users to customize how folders are viewed by using
the folder's Settings:
Default View: This is the default setting and will show a list
of file details, including the title, size, date, author and type.
There are also links to the item's complete Information and an
option to edit.
Custom View: This setting allows the user to customize what information
will be shown on the Folder page.
In the following example, the user wishes to view only the Title,
Author and Date of the document, sorted in ascending order:

Auto-Notification
This is an excellent Noodle feature that will allow user/s or
group/s to be notified by Email whenever a certain action has
occurred, such as a file being updated.
To set a notification, it must be placed on the application that
will be the final destination of the trigger procedure. In this
example, the user wishes to place a notification on a Contact
Manager to alert the System Administrator whenever a contact's
information is updated or a new contact created.
The user would select the Contact Manager's Settings and subsequently
the 'Auto Notification' tab. Here, the user may
choose to assign notifications to a single User, or an entire
Group. Group notification is useful when, for example, certain
employees must be informed when a company document has been updated.
In this case, a single user is to be notified, therefore 'Assign
User Notification' will be used here.

The user has selected the appropriate user and the conditions
under which the notification will be sent. Select 'Save'
to confirm the notification.
Another useful feature is being able to customize the message
title and body that is sent when notification is triggered. Simply
click 'Edit Message' adjacent to the notification
trigger and enter the title and body text in the new window:
