Active Directory synchronization is quick and easy with Noodle. This page is designed to provide information to set up Noodle to synchronize with an Active Directory server, specify connection parameters such as the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) and the Group of Users that will be used with Noodle.
Setting up Active Directory
Setting up Active Directory is a simple procedure. The administrator should navigate to the System Settings area of Noodle and subsequently the Active Directory tab.
The following options will need to be configured when setting up Active Directory:
Enabled - This must be set to Yes for Noodle to recognize Active Directory.
Use SSL (optional) - This option can be enabled to tell Noodle to use Secure Socket Layer encryption technology. This will encrypt user information sent between Noodle and the Active Directory. This setting is not required if Noodle and Active Directory reside on the same server.
Server Name - This will be the IP address of the Active Directory server. If Noodle and Active Directory reside on the same server, then localhost may be used in this field.
Administrative Username - This field will contain the username for the Active Directory server. It MUST be in the format Username@FQDN.
Group Name - Administrators can choose a specific group from which to import users to Noodle. To specify a Group, enter the name in this field. If this field is left blank, all Active Directory users from the specified domain will be imported.
Domain - This field should contain the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the Active Directory server. This can be found by opening the Active Directory Users and Groups tool as shown:

Once this the Active Directory information has been placed into Noodle, users will be imported from Active Directory to Noodle.

Troubleshooting
This section will contain information regarding possible issues that can arise with Active Directory under certain conditions.
'User must change password at next logon' problem - There are a number of account options within the User properties within Acive Directory - one of these is 'User must change password at next logon'. This setting is known to cause issues with Noodle. If an Active Directory Noodle user is having difficulties logging in, check that this checkbox is not checked.
Also, Noodle will not import Active Directory users after the user limit has been reached. In order to import new users, a new license with a larger amount of users is required.
